Treasure's Report
No Treasure's report
Old Business
1. Group show is underway. Nichole passed out show catalogs to the committee.
2. Web site; steering committee voted 100% in favor of moving the web site from under Vadim's aegis to a new independent location. Pam brought Dana, who provides local hosting services through his site, to the meeting to discuss the process/cost of this move. Nichole will file the paperwork to move the domain and Pam will work to connect Dana with Toshi so they can complete the process.
Venues
1. There is no venue chairperson at this time; notice will go out to membership.
2. Suggestion was made to group about putting the venue/artist schedule information into an online calendar. This will not replace the need for a venue chairperson but it would assist in steramlining the entire process. Toshi will be consulted on the possiblity of doing this on our web site.
3. No notice on venue shows will be sent to the West Seattle Herald this month.
Membership
Hans printed out job descriptions for the steering committee positions with suggested modifications to the current paperwork. Eveyrone was given copies and asked to read/edit/email Hans with any alternative ideas.
Programs
1. Nichole said she would like to work with the Co-Chairs on planning for future programs/demonstrations. She presented suggestions for several programs, an encaustic demonstration, assistance with grant writing, and assistance with writing artist statements. Glenda, Patri, and Nichole will work together to finalize the progam calendar for the rest of the year at a later date.
2. Partnerships with the Seattle Art Museum/group show was discussed. It was suggested that we make an effort this year to connect with other museums both local and international. This will take some effort on behalf of the membership and the whole group will need to be engaged to make this happen.
3. August potluck: we are looking for someone to host the event.
4. West Seattle Fair is coming up soon.......July 9, 10, and 11th. Cost of the table has been $200.00 a year which has been shared between our group and Arts West. Pam believes that this should be free to merchents and will look into seeing if this cost can be waived.
5. Audabon Show; it was decided that we would not be able to get the work done in time to make this show work in July. Nichole will see about using a September or October date.
